The Shape of Ritual is a research project by artist Evy Jokhova exploring the relationship between sound, ceremonial architecture and the body.

Architecture as frozen music  – music as liquid architecture.

The project looks at the geometric principles that underpin music and architecture creating visual and musical harmony, the fusing of form and function, the ritual of movement through space and how ceremonial architecture can be experienced by the body.

A 3 month artist residency at studio das weisse haus commences the research on the premise of the Kirche Zur Heiligsten Dreifaltigkei (Church of the Most Holy Trinity) better known as the Wotruba Church in Vienna, Austria.

The project incorporates writing, drawing, photography, film and sculpture alongside collaborations with musicians, composers, historians, architects, writers, choreographers and other artists.
